PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN ABOHAR CLOSED FOR TODAY DUE TO “BOMB THREAT” EMAIL

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

Panic gripped Assumption Convent School, LRS DAV Sr Sec Model School, and other private schools in Abohar—after they received threatening emails this morning. Most school administrators, taking precaution, announced an early closure, leaving parents in a state of alarm. Kids carrying heavy school bags on their backs were found coming out of the buildings.

Sham Lal Arora, a provincial office-bearer of the Recognized and Affiliated Schools Association (RASA), stated that the threatening email named several private schools, which were immediately evacuated. The email specified a time of 1:30 PM.

LRS DAV Sr Sec Model School Principal Smita Sharma reportedly received an email at about 8:51 AM stating that the school would be blown up with a bomb. Acting swiftly, she informed the school management, the City-II police, and the SDM; following their instructions, the school was closed for the day.

Modern Malwa School, Burjmuhar, also received a threatening email, prompting the management to immediately close today’s session.

Kuldeep Kumar, SHO of the Sadar Police Station, arrived at the scene with his team and initiated an investigation. The SHO stated that the email is currently being verified. DSP Harish Kumar added that police forces are conducting thorough searches of the affected schools, including classrooms and school vans; so far, no suspicious objects have been found at any of the schools.
