Renowned Rajasthani poet Kailashdan Kaviya said that he composes songs based on what he observes in society; whether the audience derives a message from them or not is entirely up to the listeners.

He was addressing the 141st edition of the ‘Meet the Author’ (Lekhak se Miliye) program—organized by the Srijan Seva Sansthan—on Sunday evening at Jain Public School in Sriganganagar. During the event, Kaviya captivated the audience by presenting several Rajasthani songs.

Presiding over the event, DSP Ved Prakash Lakhotia said that a poet deeply feels the pains of society and attempts to convey a message by giving voice to those sentiments through words. He also commended the ‘Srijan’ team for regularly organizing such events and fostering a literary atmosphere.

Special guest Vinod Gupta, Patron of the Maharaja Agrasen Charitable Committee, observed that Kaviya’s poignant songs moved everyone to tears. On this occasion, Kailashdan Kaviya was honored with the ‘Srijan Sahitya Samman’ (Srijan Literature Award); he was felicitated with a shawl, a memento, and a book. Mahesh Gehlot welcomed the attendees, while President Dr. Arun Shairiya “Tair” thanked all. The program was conducted by Secretary Krishan Kumar Ashu
