RECENTLY ELECTED BJP COUNCILOR’S SON ATTACKED, MLA DEMANDS ACTION

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

Sanjay, son of newly elected BJP councilor Lakshmi Devi, resident of Dharam Nagri, was badly injured by more than two dozen youths this afternoon who attacked him with sharp weapons due to old rivalry. The incident created panic in nearby areas.

Sanjay was returning to his home on a bike with a friend Sukhdev when about three dozen people in cars and bikes reportedly came with weapons and attacked Sanjay, threw him half dead and ran away. Sanjay’s family immediately got him admitted to the Civil Hospital, where according to doctors, he suffered serious injuries on his head and legs, he was referred to higher medical facility after first aid.

MLA Sandeep Jakhar, who reached the hospital, strongly condemned the attack and said that this incident is living proof of the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab. This type of attack in broad daylight shows that criminals have no fear of law and common citizens are feeling unsafe. Sandeep Jakhar said that the Aam Aadmi Party government has proved to be a complete failure in maintaining law and order. He demanded from the Punjab Police that all the accused involved in the attack should be immediately identified and arrested and strict legal action should be taken against them.
