Chandigarh : The General House Meeting of the Rural Education Welfare Association (REWA) was held on Friday at the Community Centre, Sector 49, Chandigarh. The meeting commenced with the collective rendition of the inspiring ‘REWA Anthem’, composed by noted litterateur Dr. Vinod Sharma, which infused the members with enthusiasm and a renewed sense of commitment towards the organization.
Presiding over the meeting, V.B. Kapil led detailed deliberations on several important organizational matters. These included the school recognition process, presentation of the Association’s Income and Expenditure Report for the financial year 2025–26, review of pending issues and their current status, as well as discussions on the framework for the forthcoming REWA elections. Members also shared valuable suggestions for further strengthening the organization.
The General House unanimously elected V.B. Kapil as the President of REWA and authorized him to constitute the new Executive Committee.
Announcing the initial office-bearers of the new Executive Committee, President V.B. Kapil appointed S.P. Gupta as Vice President, Pradeep Sharma as General Secretary, Dr. Vinod Sharma as Media Advisor, Vijay Kumar Sharma as Finance Secretary, Jaswinder Kaur as Organizing Secretary, Monika as Liaison Secretary, and Sanjeev Joshi as Auditor. He informed the House that the remaining vacant positions in the Executive Committee would be filled shortly with suitable members.
Addressing the gathering, V.B. Kapil expressed his gratitude to all members for reposing their confidence in him. He assured that the new team would work with dedication, transparency, and commitment to safeguard the interests of educational institutions and further strengthen REWA. He also appealed to all members to maintain organizational unity and actively participate in the Association’s future activities.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to all members, followed by a community lunch.
