RS 37.46 CRORE RISING MAIN PROJECT GETS ADMINISTRATIVE APPROVAL

On the fifth day of the monsoon session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, Abohar MLA Sandeep Jakhar raised the much-anticipated Rising Main project, which relates to the city and surrounding villages. He said in the assembly that thousands of people have been facing serious problems due to the dilapidated Rising Main pipeline over the years. It is now necessary to start work on this project without any delay.

At the request of the legislator, local government minister Harjot Singh Bains assured the house that work on the Rising Main project would begin soon. The legislator said that the project, worth Rs 37.46 crore, has already received administrative approval. Eighty percent of the project’s total cost will be borne by the Indian government, while 20 percent will be covered by the Punjab government. The Abohar Municipal Council has already allocated Rs 2 crore for this project. The tender for this project will be opened on August 13, after which the construction work can begin promptly.

He said that people from villages like Chirag Dhani, Killianwali, and Sayeed Wala have been facing great difficulties over the past four years due to the poor condition of the Rising Man pipeline. Once the project is completed, the water drainage system will improve, and people will be relieved from the problems caused by waterlogging and related diseases. The legislator thanked the minister, Harjot Singh Bains, for taking this important matter seriously and promising to act promptly. He also appealed to the Punjab government to ensure that no administrative obstacles are created in the implementation of this prime project.
