The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission, acting on a complaint filed by Punjab Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O., has sought a report from the Amritsar Rural Police by July 2, 2026.
Giving information in this regard, Chairman of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission, Jasvir Singh Garhi, said that Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. had submitted a written complaint alleging that Punjab Congress President and Member of Parliament from Ludhiana, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, made inflammatory remarks against him during the Tarn Taran elections in February 2026. According to the complaint, Raja Warring allegedly stated that it would take him only three minutes to wring his neck.
Mr. Garhi said that a report had earlier been sought from the Amritsar Rural Police in this matter. However, the police requested additional time to submit the report.
Keeping this request in view, the Commission has directed the Amritsar Rural Police to obtain voice samples of Punjab Congress President and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, get them examined, and submit a detailed report to the Commission by July 2, 2026.B
Meanwhile Commission has given another opportunity to Union Minister of State for Railways, Ravneet Singh Bittu, to appear before the Commission in connection with the Dhuri case.
Giving information in this regard, Chairman of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission, Jasvir Singh Garhi, said that Ravneet Singh Bittu had been directed to appear before the Commission today in the Dhuri case. However, Advocate Ramandeep Singh and Advocate A.S. Barnala appeared on his behalf and informed the Commission that Mr. Bittu was unable to appear due to official engagements in New Delhi.
They requested the Commission to grant Mr. Bittu another opportunity to appear before it. The Commission accepted the request and fixed June 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. as the next date of hearing.
The Commission also directed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Sangrur, that if Mr. Bittu fails to appear on the next date as well, appropriate legal action should be initiated in the matter. A report in this regard should be submitted to the Commission on June 25, 2026, through the SP Headquarters, Sangrur.
