SC COMMISSION SEEKS REPORT FROM SSP SANGRUR OVER USE OF CASTEIST REMARKS BY RAVNEET SINGH BITTU

The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has sought a report from the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur after taking suo motu notice of the use of casteist remarks by Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu.

Disclosing this here today, Chairman of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Jasvir Singh Garhi said that the matter had come to the notice of the Commission through social media reports alleging that Ravneet Singh Bittu used caste-indicative words during his visit to Dhuri.

He further informed that the Commission has forwarded links of the social media reports and directed the authorities to submit an inquiry report through the SP Headquarters, Sangrur by 9:00 AM on June 1, 2026.
