SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS IN ABOHAR TO BE FURTHER STRENGTHENED: SSP GAGAN AJIT SINGH

SSP Gagan Ajit Singh held a meeting with traders at Sadar Bazaar here to curb the rising incidents of theft, robbery, and anti-social activities in the city. During the meeting, traders raised several security-related issues; in response, the SSP stated that if a suitable location is provided, a police check post would be established between Market No. 11 and 12, which would further strengthen security for the surrounding major markets.

The traders expressed concern over the theft of goods from outside shops, robberies, and the increasing activities of anti-social elements, and demanded regular police patrolling in the main markets. Stress on checking of bikers roaming in the markets was also laid.

The SSP noted that there has been a decline in major criminal incidents in the city since he assumed charge. Recently, the City-1 police arrested and jailed over 50 youths with criminal backgrounds, and this drive will continue.

The SSP announced that meetings between the police and traders would now be held every 10 days to ensure timely resolution of issues. He urged the traders to cooperate with the police and immediately report any suspicious activity. He said that his mobile phone remains active round-the-clock, and any trader facing difficulties can contact him directly. The police are fully committed to public safety
