Department of Skill Development in Tantia University, Sriganganagar has been appointed as Associate Training Partner by the Skill Development Council for Banking, Financial Services and Insurance Sector (BFSI Sector Skill Council of India). This appointment has been made for a period of one year.
Dr. Vishal Chhabra, Deputy Coordinator of Skill Development Department, said that through this partnership, the students of Tantia University will get new opportunities in providing professional skills, practical training and employment-oriented knowledge as per the needs of banking, financial services and insurance sector. BFSI Sector Skill Council is involved in activities like skill training, assessment and certification as per the needs of the industry.
Dr. Mohit Tantia, Vice Chairperson, Tantia University said that this partnership with BFSI Sector Skill Council will provide a new direction to the skill development efforts of Tantia University. Our endeavour is that university education should not be limited to bookish knowledge only, but students should be linked with practical skills, training as per the needs of the industry and better employment opportunities. He said that in the coming times, special attention will be paid to preparing the youth for employment and self-reliance by effectively linking skill development with higher education.
Dr. Mohit said that at present, along with academic qualifications, it is very important for the students to develop practical skills and employability skills. With this vision, the University is continuously working to establish effective coordination between education and skills.
