In the final match of the Open Women’s Hockey Competition at Padampur, dedicated to the birth anniversary of Martyr Captain Navpal Singh Sidhu, the team of Sangria Dhaba, under the guidance of coach Mukesh Kumar, displayed excellent performance and became the champion by defeating the team of MRM Nirvana 3-0.

Chief guest former Union Minister Nihal Chand, Maninder Singh, senior coach Gurdayal Singh Sandhu, BJP Mandal President Anshu Bulandi and hundreds of players, waved the national tricolor on patriotic tunes, chanted Jai Bharat Mata and said that till the time the sun and the moon remain, Navpal Singh Sidhu’s name will remain immortal. They paid floral tributes to the portrait of Navpal Singh.

Nihal Chand said that talented players are making their region proud by proving their ability in the country and abroad. Navpal Singh, being the best player himself and having a passion for the country, imbibed the values of his parents in his life and became the pride of the Indian Army. By making his supreme sacrifice in the national interest in 2002, the name of village 40 RB became immortal in the pages of history. Amar Shaheed Captain Navpal Singh Sidhu Memorial Charitable Trust, along with Bhamashah Sandeep Soni, Ashish Taneja, Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited 27 BB, Bhayali Parwani and other associates, is continuing the tradition by organizing games year after year and fulfilling its duty by providing support to the martyr family.
