Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

Two individuals, who had allegedly committed a theft in a mobile shop near Sabzi Mandi Chowk, have been arrested and about 50 mobile phones have been recovered from their possession.

DSP Harish Kumar and Inspector Maninder Singh, in-charge of Police Station City-1, said that Bablu Kumar, who operates Delhi Mobile Repair Shop, complained that on the morning of July 2, the watchman called and informed that the shutter of the shop was broken. On reaching the spot, it was found that 14 new and 70 old mobile phones had been stolen from the shop.

A case was registered under sections 331 (4) and 305 of BNS against unknown accused. ASI Mohan Lal was investigating the case.

Police scanned the footage of nearby CCTV cameras. During technical investigation, the police reached the accused on the basis of the tattoo on the hand of a suspect in the footage. After this, a raid was conducted on secret information and Sanjam Kumar and Akash of Sant Nagar were arrested. About 50 mobile phones have been recovered from the possession of the accused. 7 cases of theft and assault are already registered against Akash in Abohar, 1 in Bathinda and 2 in Fatehabad.
