The 7th All-Open Leather Cricket League was inaugurated with great fanfare and enthusiasm at the historic M.R. College Cricket Ground in Fazilka. Karan Gilhotra, founder of the Karan Gilhotra Foundation, kicked off the tournament by cutting the ribbon. The entire ground was imbued with a sporting spirit, thanks to the presence of social activist Pawan Bhateja, a large number of players and local sports enthusiasts.
Karan Gilhotra personally met the players, offering them guidance and boosting their morale. The dedication, passion for the game, and disciplined conduct displayed by the young players on the field served as an inspiration to everyone.
The importance of sports was highlighted, emphasizing that sports are an integral part of life. They foster not only physical strength in the youth but also cultivate excellent qualities such as discipline, self-confidence, quick decision-making abilities, and team spirit. Such cricket leagues not only provide a robust platform for hidden local talent but also inspire young people to steer clear of negativity and move forward in a positive, healthy direction.
Heartfelt best wishes were extended to all the participating teams and players for their outstanding performance. It is hoped that this 7th All-Open Leather Cricket League will prove to be a memorable event in the region, driven by thrilling matches, healthy competition, and true sportsmanship.
