The “Sarbat da Bhala” gifts the villagers with a supply of clean drinking water

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

The “Sarbat da Bhala” organization in the village of Dangar Khera near Abohar initiated a significant project by thoroughly cleaning the village’s water works and the filters within it. This initiative is expected to provide the villagers with access to clean drinking water.

Led by the head of the “Sarbat da Bhala” organization, Gurpreet, along with members Suresh Pal, Sahib Ram, Khazan Chand, Surinder, Ramesh, Pankaj, Mohan Pal, Mahabir, Karanvir, Gurvinder, Dhan Raj, and Ram Chander, the group worked together to remove the sediment and debris accumulated in the reservoir and filters of the village’s water supply system. The villagers had complained that the accumulation of sediment in the reservoir and filters had been affecting the flow and quality of the water supply for an extended period, leading to unpleasant odours and the presence of insects.

The villagers expressed their gratitude to the organization, stating, “Clean drinking water is a basic necessity for everyone. This effort to address the problem of water supply, which is a fundamental service, is highly commendable.”

The villagers expressed hope that this clean-up effort will lead to access to cleaner and better water sources.

It visibly appeared that the Water and Sanitation Department had not taken care of the wild growth and stagnant reservoirs for a long time.
