TRIBUTE PAID TO IMMORTAL MARTYR LALA JAGAT NARAIN

Abohar (Face2News).

On the 45th Balidan Diwas of the great freedom fighter and messiah of journalism, the immortal martyr Lala Jagat Narain, a heartfelt tribute was paid to him in a program organized by the Lekhak Parishad at the 102-year-old Sahitya Sadan.

Parishad president Raj Sadosh, Sahitya Sadan in-charge Dr. Sandeep Watts, Punjab Kesari Group representative Sunil Bhardwaj, Advocate Sheetal Bajaj, Raj Kumar and Dr. Yashik Middha etc. were among those who paid floral tributes on Lala ji’s portrait.

Raj Sadosh said that Lala ji, born in Wazirabad, while receiving education in Lahore, joined the patriots who sounded the trumpet of independence and took the initiative to showcase his patriotism and bring awareness among the countrymen through Hind Samachar. After coming to Jalandhar due to the Partition, he established new dimensions in the field of Urdu as well as Hindi and Punjabi journalism. While walking the difficult path of raising the voice of the people, he bravely faced many challenges. He had the privilege of working with Punjab Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai.

Dr. Watts said that Lala Jagat Narain Ji, during visits to Abohar, used to discuss with Sahitya Sadan secretary and former minister Chandi Ram Verma and president Ch. Hazari Lal Rinwa about the post-Independence situation. Now, on the 102nd foundation day of Sahitya Sadan, memories of such great men are being refreshed.

Sunil Bhardwaj said that Lala ji, was concerned that there was something lacking in realizing the dreams of freedom cherished by the martyrs. Lala ji’s family is now dedicated to the service of the nation, following his high ideals and has established new dimensions in journalism as well as the social field.
