TRIDENT GROUP HOSTS INAUGURAL CRAFT AND DESIGN WORKSHOP, CELEBRATING INDIA’S RICH ARTISTIC HERITAGE

Face2News/Ludhiana / Chandigarh

Trident Group organised its inaugural two-day Craft and Design Workshop at there Ludhiana office, celebrating India’s rich artistic heritage and the enduring significance of traditional Indian crafts. Bringing together master artists, creative institutions, employees, and children, the workshop witnessed the participation of more than 100 people, creating a vibrant space for artistic exploration, cultural appreciation, and hands-on learning.

The workshop featured four engaging activities – Pottery, Batik art, Gond art, and a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) workshop – each offering participants an opportunity to explore diverse art forms, learn new techniques, and experience the joy of creating with their own hands. The sessions were facilitated by established artists and creative institutions, bringing specialised knowledge and artistic expertise to the participants.

The Batik art workshop was conducted by Himanshu Art Institute, Delhi, introducing participants to the intricate techniques and distinctive patterns of this traditional art form. The Gond art session was led by Master artist Anand Kumar Shyam from Bhopal, offering participants an opportunity to explore the rich visual storytelling traditions of Gond art. The pottery workshop was facilitated by Creative Arts Institute, Ludhiana, allowing participants to experience the timeless craft of shaping clay, while the DIY workshop was conducted by Aubergiene, Ludhiana, encouraging hands-on creativity and imaginative expression.

A key highlight of the initiative was its emphasis on celebrating, preserving, and passing on India’s rich artistic heritage. Each workshop offered a glimpse into the traditions, techniques, and creativity that define Indian craftsmanship. By bringing artists and participants together, the initiative created a meaningful opportunity to appreciate the cultural significance of traditional art forms and recognise the dedication of the artists and artisan communities who keep these practices alive.

The workshop also served as an enriching experience for participants across generations. Children discovered beautiful art forms, explored their imagination, and learned new creative skills in an engaging environment. For adults, the sessions offered an opportunity to reconnect with India’s cultural roots and understand the importance of preserving traditional crafts by appreciating, practising, and passing them on to future generations.

Beyond being a creative engagement, the inaugural workshop highlighted the importance of keeping traditional Indian crafts alive in a rapidly evolving world. By introducing younger generations to these art forms and encouraging adults to value their cultural significance, the initiative helped bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary lifestyles.
