VETERINARY SURGEON MURDERED: DEAD BODY FOUND IN GOVT OFFICER’S VACANT HOUSE

A case of murder of a 29-year-old veterinarian, identified later as Amandeep Singh, has come to light in village Gidderanwali. On Sunday morning, the dead body was found in a state govt officer’s vacant house situated in the fields.

DSP Amandeep Singh and Khuian Sarwar SHO Paramjeet Singh reached the spot. Police collected evidence from the spot and brought the body to the mortuary of the Civil Hospital here for post-mortem.

Village Sarpanch Des Raj said that the owner of the house is at present posted in Patiala district. His house in the field is looked after by the farmers. On Sunday morning, information was received about the dead body of a young man lying in the house, after which the police were informed.

Villagers said that initially it was difficult to identify the deceased due to serious injuries on his face and head. On the basis of the mobile phone found at the spot, the deceased was identified as Amandeep Singh of the same village. After this his family members were informed.

Police inspected the spot and collected necessary evidence. According to preliminary information, injury marks caused by sharp and pointed weapons were found on the body of the deceased. At present there is no information about any weapon recovered from the spot. Who committed the murder and for what reason has not been revealed yet.

According to Sarpanch Desraj, Amandeep used to work as a veterinarian and he was preparing for marriage.
