VISHWA JAIN SANGATHAN EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER SHRI SAMMED SHIKHAR SANCTITY

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

Vishwa Jain Sangathan national president Sanjay Jain has expressed deep concern over the desecration of the world’s most sacred Jain pilgrimage Shri Sammed Shikhar Ji – Parasnath Parvatraj in Giridih District, Jharkhand.

It was informed that 20 out of 24 Tirthankars of Jainism attained Moksha from this supreme hill, every particle of which is worshipable for Jains. Ancient Jain scriptures, Central & State Governments, Archaeological Department and the Ministry of Environment & Forest have recognized its sanctity as the holiest Moksha-sthali.

Due to lack of baggage checking, pilgrim registration, CCTV cameras and security at the Parvatraj entry gate, non-religious activities like making vulgar videos on film songs, consumption of intoxicants, bike riding etc. are being carried out, destroying its sanctity and environment, causing immense anguish in the entire Jain community.

Key Demands raised to the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Jharkhand Government. 1. Set up baggage checking check-post with scanner & barrier and compulsory pilgrim registration at the entry gate. 2. Install CCTV cameras and deploy adequate security.

3. Make Vandana Marg free from illegal encroachments. 4. Complete ban on bike operation, consumption of any type of intoxicants, use of plastic and making video reels on film songs on the Parvatraj.

Sanjay Jain clarified that misleading information is being spread on social media regarding these demands to create unnecessary controversy, whereas no statement or demand has been made against any local community, institution, leader or political party of Madhuban.

Organization’s General Secretary Rahul Jain, National Minister Anuj Jain and National Media In-charge Akash Jain were present. Punjab Unit Coordinator Dr. Sandeep Kumar Jain, General Secretary Ravinder Jain, Joint Coordinator Rakesh Jain (Gursewak parivar) and others also demanded from Govt. of India and Govt. of Jharkhand to protect the sanctity and environment of Parvatraj. Jain community never opposes any religion or culture and expects the same respect for its holiest pilgrimage.
