WARRING CONDEMNS HARYANA POLICE BRUTALITY AGAINST SIKH PROTESTORS

SAYS, CM SAINI OWES AN ANSWER WHY PEACEFUL PROTESTORS WERE BEATEN UP. DEMANDS RELEASE OF SIKH YOUTH

Face2News/Chandigarh

Punjab Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today condemned the brutality by Haryana Police on peaceful Sikh protestors in Ambala last night who were demanding release of two Sikh youth and an FIR against an accused who had rammed his car on people.

Warring, in a statement issued here today, said that people were peacefully protesting in Ambala and seeking the release of two Sikh youths arrested arbitrarily by the Haryana Police.

The PCC president also questioned the silence of the Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on the matter. He told Saini that he owed an answer to the Sikhs and Punjabis on the entire incident. He reminded him of his frequent visits to Punjab, where he is accorded best hospitality in true Sikh spirit and Punjabi tradition.

“Beware of the same people protesting against you for these incidents, who otherwise have been according warm welcome to you in Punjab”, he cautioned the Haryana CM.

He said, the person concerned, who was the main agent provocateur belongs to Ludhiana. He said, that person’s claim to fame is issuing controversial and provocative statements to get the official security cover. He warned against encouraging such people as they are a potential threat to peace and harmony in the state.

The PCC president hoped that better sense prevails among the Haryana government and it stops using brutal force against peaceful protestors. He also demanded immediate release of the two Sikh youth who have been falsely implicated.
