WING COMMANDER DR. J. S. MINHAS ASSUMES CHARGE AS PRESIDENT OF ROTARY CLUB CHANDIGARH CENTRAL WITH A VISION TO SET WORLD RECORDS

Rotary Club Chandigarh Central held its Installation Ceremony for the Rotary Year 2026–27 on Friday at DSOI, Sector 36, Chandigarh, in a grand and dignified atmosphere. Rotarian Wing Commander Dr. J. S. Minhas officially assumed office as President of the club, while Immediate Past President Rotarian S. P. Ojha took charge as Secretary. The newly constituted Board of Directors also assumed their respective responsibilities.

The ceremony was graced by Rotary District 3080 District Governor Rotarian Dr. Rita Kalra as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Principal Director, attended as the Guest of Honour. The dignitaries congratulated the new leadership team and expressed confidence that the club would scale new heights in service, leadership, and community engagement.

In his inaugural address, newly installed President Wing Commander Dr. J. S. Minhas stated that his vision is to establish the club as a leader in humanitarian service, not only at the national level but also internationally. He announced that the club would strive to set a world record for the highest number of blood donations organized by a single Rotary club during the year. He also declared the club’s ambition to surpass the existing world record for the highest number of sanitary napkins distributed, previously established under the leadership of former President Rotarian S. P. Ojha, and create a new milestone in community service.

During the ceremony, five new members were inducted into the Rotary family. They took the Rotary pledge, reaffirming their commitment to the organization’s ideals of service, integrity, and fellowship.

The Executive Committee for Rotary Year 2026–27 comprises Rotarian J. S. Minhas (President), Rotarian S. P. Ojha (Secretary), Rotarian R. D. S. Riar (Treasurer), Rotarian S. S. Riar and Rotarian Rajeev Aggarwal (Vice Presidents), Rotarian Sukhmani Riar (President-Elect), Rotarian Vaibhav Bhatnagar (Immediate Past President), Rotarian R. S. Cheema (Trust Treasurer), Rotarian H. S. Ubha, Rotarian Ashok Gupta, Rotarian Nitin Mittal, Rotarian Vichitra Singh, Rotarian Manpreet Singh, and Rotarian Manuraj Saggu (Directors), Rotarian D. S. Malhotra (Sergeant-at-Arms), and Rotarian B. S. Kapoor (Joint Secretary).

The ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from all club members and their spouses (Anns). The event reflected the true spirit of Rotary—service above self, fellowship, and commitment to society. Members collectively resolved to make the new Rotary year a historic one through impactful service initiatives and meaningful community outreach.
