WOMAN AND CHILD WELFARE SOCIETY DISTRIBUTES SEWING MACHINES ON FOUNDATION DAY

The 8th Foundation Day of the Woman and Child Welfare Society, Sector 45-D, Chandigarh, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Tagore Theatre on Sunday.

On this occasion, Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi attended the event as the chief guest and honored women beneficiaries while distributing sewing machines to promote self-employment and economic self-reliance.

The event, organized by the NGO registered under the Government of India’s NITI Aayog, witnessed enthusiastic participation from social workers, dignitaries, artists, and members of civil society. Director of NYCS Vikas Rana attended as the special guest, while Munish Aggarwal was present as the guest of honor.

Founder President Ms. Pooja Bakshi welcomed the guests and presented a detailed overview of the organization’s achievements and social initiatives.

Addressing the gathering, Mayor Saurabh Joshi appreciated the organization’s dedicated efforts in the fields of women empowerment, skill development, and social welfare. He said that empowering women through skill-based initiatives and self-reliance programs is essential for building an inclusive and progressive society. He also emphasized the growing need for public participation in social welfare activities.
