With a large number of devotees visiting Mata Mansa Devi Temple during the ongoing Shardiya Navratri fair, Panchkula Police has provided major relief to seven families within just 24 hours of the launch of the Tourist Police Post at the temple complex. The police team safely reunited six children and one woman who had been separated from their families.

The Tourist Police Post, the first of its kind in Haryana, has proved its importance by providing quick assistance to devotees visiting the temple from different states. Acting promptly on receiving information, the police team used technology, loudspeaker announcements and immediate search efforts to trace the missing persons and reunite them with their families.
The Tourist Police Post was inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on October 11 at the Mata Mansa Devi Temple complex.

According to DCP Panchkula IPS Aditi Singh, the first incident was reported at around 9 pm on October 11, when a two-year-old girl from a family visiting from Himachal Pradesh went missing in the temple complex. The Tourist Police team immediately began searching for her and safely reunited her with her family.

In the second incident, a five-year-old girl from Chandigarh got separated from her family in the temple premises. The police team acted swiftly, traced the child and handed her over to her family.

In the third incident, a two-year-old boy from a family that had come from Punjab to seek the blessings of Mata went missing during the fair. The police team located him and safely reunited him with his family.

In the fourth incident, an eight-year-old girl from a family visiting from Uttar Pradesh got separated from her relatives. The Tourist Police Post took immediate action and ensured her safe return to her family.

In the fifth incident, an eight-year-old girl from a family residing in Abhaypur went missing while visiting the temple. With the help of the police, she was safely reunited with her family.

In the sixth incident, a 22-year-old woman, originally from Uttar Pradesh and currently residing in Punjab, got separated from her husband. The police team acted promptly and reunited the couple.

In the seventh incident, a six-year-old girl from a family visiting from Punjab went missing. On receiving the information, the Tourist Police Post team immediately took action and safely reunited her with her family.

The families expressed their gratitude to Panchkula Police for its timely assistance. Shopkeepers in the temple complex and other devotees also appreciated the police team’s prompt response and commendable work.

Commissioner of Police IPS Pankaj Nain said that the distinctive uniform of the Tourist Police would make it easier for devotees to identify police personnel and seek assistance whenever required. He added that the team was acting as a bridge between the police and devotees visiting the temple from Haryana as well as other states.
The Police Commissioner appealed to devotees to remain especially careful about their young children during the fair. He advised parents and guardians to hold their children’s hands in crowded areas and immediately contact the nearest police officer or the Tourist Police Post if a child goes missing.
