‘PRE-SIR’ MAPPING CAMPS HELD IN ABOHAR

Raj Sadosh/Abohar:

A special campaign was conducted on Sunday to ensure voter lists are completely transparent and error-free, in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab. Special camps for ‘Pre-SIR’ voter mapping were organized within the Abohar from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at various polling stations across the constituency, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) present to assist voters.

SDM Abohar, Ravinder Singh Arora, inspected various polling stations to oversee the smooth functioning of the camps and ensure transparency.

During the inspection, the SDM instructed the staff and BLOs to avoid any negligence in the voter mapping process and to ensure the accurate mapping of every eligible voter so that no one is deprived of their democratic right.

Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) Avinash Chander also visited several key polling stations. He closely inspected the booths at DAV College, Gopi Chand Arya Mahila College, and Azeemgarh, issuing necessary directives to the officials on duty. Pawan Kumar from the Election Office also accompanied him during the inspection.

The SIR campaign is set to officially commence across Punjab on June 25, 2026
