SEMINAR ORGANISED ON WORLD CORAL TRIANGLE DAY

A seminar was organised at Krishna IAS and Judiciary Coaching, Sector-24D, Chandigarh, on the occasion of World Coral Triangle Day with the objective of promoting marine biodiversity conservation and environmental awareness. More than 500 students and faculty members from various educational institutions participated enthusiastically in the event.
Arjun Pawar, Metropolitan Secretary of ABVP Chandigarh, attended the seminar as the Chief Guest. Addressing the youth, he described environmental protection as one of the most pressing needs of the present time and stated that nation-building is not limited to education alone; protecting natural resources and the environment is the responsibility of every citizen. He urged young people to become aware of environmental issues and play an active role in addressing them.
Students and faculty members from Panjab University, DAV College Sector-10, SD College Sector-32, and Rattan Group of Institutions, Mohali, participated in the programme. The speakers discussed the importance of marine ecosystems, climate change, and biodiversity conservation in detail.
Dr. Sachin Goyal, Director of Krishna IAS and Judiciary Coaching, informed the audience that Coral Triangle Day was first observed in 2012. Its objective is to raise awareness about the conservation of the Coral Triangle region in the western Pacific Ocean, which is regarded as the world’s richest center of marine biodiversity. He emphasized that the protection of marine resources is crucial for maintaining global environmental balance.
Dr. Sachin Goyal, who is also the Academic Director of Rattan Group of Institutions, highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities in the holistic development of students. He stated that along with academic excellence, developing environmental consciousness is equally important. Such programmes help foster a global outlook, social responsibility, and leadership qualities among young people.
The programme concluded with an interactive session in which students discussed measures to protect the environment, reduce plastic pollution, and preserve marine ecosystems. Participants pledged to contribute actively towards environmental conservation and spread awareness about sustainable practices.
The organisers stated that similar programmes related to environmental and social awareness will continue to be conducted in the future to make young people more sensitive towards global challenges and their solutions.
