The Punjab Government has decided to restore the normal working hours for all government offices and institutions in the state from July 1, 2026.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel, the temporary office timings of 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., which had been implemented from May 25, 2026, in view of the prevailing heatwave, will remain in force only until June 30, 2026.
From July 1, 2026 (Wednesday) onwards, all government offices and institutions located in Punjab and Chandigarh will function as per the regular schedule of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Personnel Department has directed all departments and offices to ensure strict compliance with these revised instructions.
