REVISED SCHEDULE OF SPECIAL INTENSIVE REVISION FOR PUNJAB ISSUED BY ECI, EXTENDS TILL AUGUST 3. CEO ANINDITA MITRA

The Election Commission of India has today issued a letter regarding amendment to the previously announced programme for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls for the State of Punjab.

Providing information in this regard, Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab, Smt. Anindita Mitra, stated that now, the house to house enumeration phase will continue up to August 3, 2026. Further, The rationalisation of polling stations will be completed by August 3, 2026.

CEO Punjab, further said that the draft electoral rolls in Punjab will now be published on 13 August 2026.

She informed that claims and objections regarding the electoral rolls will now be submitted from August 13 to September 12, 2026 while disposal of claims and objections will continue from August 13 to October 8, 2026. The Chief Electoral Officer informed that the final electoral rolls will be published on October 12, 2026.

Mrs. Anindita Mitra urged all eligible citizens to actively participate in the Special Intensive Revision to ensure that their electoral details are complete, accurate and up to date, thereby contributing towards free, fair and transparent elections.
