ROAD CONSTRUCTED THREE MONTHS AGO IN SHAMBLES: ABOHAR MLA

On the bad condition of the Phirni road connecting the Abohar-Sriganganagar highway to Khuian Sarwar, MLA Sandeep Jakhar said that this road was built only three months ago, but seeing its condition today has clearly proved how the public tax money is being sacrificed for corruption.

Jakhar said that the road which was supposed to become a medium of convenience for the people for years, is in shambles in a few months exposing the government. The carpet has been uprooted from many places on the road and the quality of construction has proved to be very poor. It appears that the road is covered with more “corruption and commission” than asphalt. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party government makes big publicity and claims honesty and development, but the ground reality is exactly the opposite. Instead of providing quality facilities to the public, government money is being misused openly. If the road gets damaged within three months, then what could be a bigger proof of a construction scam than this.

The MLA asked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann whether putting people’s lives at risk by getting such shoddy construction done with public money is the government’s achievement? A high-level and impartial inquiry should be conducted into the construction of this road, the responsibility of the officers and contractors involved in the construction work should be fixed and strict legal action should be taken against the culprits. The road should be rebuilt with high quality so that the people of the area can get safe and better transportation facilities
