SEWA CHANDIGARH HONOURS ARUN SOOD AND KULBHUSHAN SHARMA

Face2News/Chandigarh

Sarvahara Education Welfare Association (SEWA), Chandigarh, organized a grand felicitation ceremony at Hotel Western Court, Sector 43, Chandigarh, to honour two distinguished personalities, Sh. Arun Sood, Former Mayor of Chandigarh and Former BJP President, and Sh. Kulbhushan Sharma, National President of the National Independent Schools Alliance (NISA), for their remarkable contributions to social service, education, and public welfare.

The event witnessed the participation of a large number of educationists, social workers, school management representatives, and members of various organizations.

On the occasion, Sardar Daljeet Singh, President of SEWA Chandigarh, welcomed both dignitaries and stated that individuals who make exceptional contributions to society and the education sector deserve recognition and appreciation. He thanked the Chandigarh Administration and Hon’ble Administrator Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria for granting recognition to 12 schools recently, calling it a commendable step. He also urged the administration to expedite the recognition process for the remaining pending schools so that students and school managements can receive much-needed relief.

Addressing the gathering, Sh. Arun Sood said that education is the foundation of social progress and that issues concerning educational institutions should be resolved in a timely manner. He noted that the Hon’ble Administrator, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, had already granted recognition to 12 schools, which was a positive development. However, the recognition process for nearly 78 schools is still pending. He appealed to the administration to resolve these cases at the earliest and grant recognition to the remaining schools, thereby removing uncertainty surrounding the future of thousands of students.

Sh. Kulbhushan Sharma expressed his gratitude to SEWA for the honour and emphasized that educational institutions and social organizations play a vital role in nation-building. He said that providing quality education to every child is a collective responsibility and that issues related to education should be addressed through dialogue, cooperation, and constructive engagement.

Participants at the event appreciated the contributions of both honourees and described their work as inspiring for society and the education sector.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of mementos, a vote of thanks, and dinner.
