Two ticket checking staff members of the Ferozepur Railway Division at Amritsar headquarters displayed honesty and promptness by ensuring the safe return of a passenger’s bag left behind on the New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Express.

During duty on train No. 12013 on September 6, TTIs Dinesh Kumar and Charanjit Singh Sandhu found a black bag in the train. On checking, they found an Apple mobile phone, a pair of diamond earrings and Rs 10,000 in cash inside it.

The passenger had inadvertently left the bag on the train while alighting at Sirhind railway station. The ticket checking staff obtained the passenger’s contact number and informed him about the bag.

With the passenger’s consent, the bag was handed over intact to his family member at Ludhiana railway station.

The passenger thanked the railway staff for their promptness, honesty and sense of duty.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Basant Kumar appreciated the two employees and said the dedication and commitment of railway staff helped ensure a safe and pleasant travel experience for passengers.
