TWO HELD WITHIN 24 HOURS OF BURGLING GARMENTS SHOP

The City-2 police identified three accused on the basis of CCTV footage in the theft incident at a readymade wears store in Nai Abadi and arrested two of them within twenty-four hours.

Store owner Praveen Kumar told the police that when he reached the shop on Saturday morning, he found the shutter locks broken. The thieves had stolen jeans and shirts worth about Rs 50,000 from the shop, as well as cash exceeding Rs 10,000 from the cash counter.

When footage from nearby CCTV cameras was examined, three youths were seen roaming suspiciously in the lane late at night. The police identified them as Piyush, Vishal alias Lala, and Manthan, residents of the same locality, Nai Abadi.

Police have arrested Piyush and Vishal, while Manthan is still absconding. The police are continuously conducting raids to arrest him.

Station House Officer Ravinder Singh Bhiti said that both arrested accused will be taken on police remand for questioning so that the entire stolen property can be recovered and the other accused involved in the incident can also be identified. He said that night patrolling shall be intensified to prevent such incidents.
