WATER SUPPLY TO CANAL TAIL-ENDS MISSING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 70 YEARS: SANDEEP JAKHAR

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

MLA Sandeep Jakhar visited tail-ends of the canals today to assess the deepening water crisis. Witnessing crops parched for even a drop of water, MLA Jakhar lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party government, stating that in its 70-year history, Abohar has never witnessed such a dire and unfortunate phase where farmers and the general public have been rendered so helpless regarding basic amenities.

During the visit, the MLA noted that water levels at the tail-ends have dropped so drastically that saving the crops has become impossible. He remarked that the Bhagwant Mann government, which trumpeted the slogan of ‘Badlav’, has sacrificed Punjab’s food providers at the altar of its politics. Far from ensuring water reaches the tail-ends, the government remains indifferent to the fact that the lack of water is completely destroying the hard-earned investments and crops of Abohar’s farmers. This is not merely a water shortage; it is stark evidence of the government’s failure.

Sandeep Jakhar also lambasted the government over the electricity issue. He pointed out that while people are grappling with scorching heat, prolonged unscheduled power cuts have made life miserable. From the city to the villages, the public is in distress, and the government has proven to be a failure on every front—incapable of fulfilling even basic necessities like electricity and water.

Jakhar demanded that full water supply be immediately restored to the tail-ends of Abohar’s canals and that unscheduled power cuts be halted to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply. He made it clear that if the government fails to take concrete action soon, he would take to the streets to protect the rights of the people
