digarh Mohalla here allegedly died by hanging herself in her home for unknown reasons; she was a mother of two. It is reported that the deceased’s husband and accompanists performed her last rites without informing the police. Upon learning of the incident, the City-2 police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation; the police are currently questioning the husband.
According to reports, Priya (35, originally from UP) and her husband had been living here in a rented house with their children for several years. The landlord stated that when he went to feed the livestock this morning, he learned that Priya had committed suicide and that her husband and family had already performed her last rites at Shivpuri earlier that morning.
The deceased’s husband, Sonu, who works at a sweet shop, reportedly said that his wife had gone to her maternal home in UP without notice about a month ago, and her family members had brought her back. He mentioned that the previous day, his wife had told her maternal family that he beat her, prompting a call from her in-laws. He denied it and had assured them he would speak to her upon returning home. When he returned home around 8:00 AM today, he found his wife hanging from a noose. With the help of some friends, he took her down and performed the last rites. He also informed her maternal family that their daughter had committed suicide.
