YOUTH’S BODY RECOVERED FROM CANAL, FAMILY ACCUSED FRIENDS OF “MURDER”

The body of a Katehra village resident has been found in the fields near village Koyal Khera. He had reportedly entered the canal late in the evening to take bath with friends. The family alleged that his friends “drowned” him. His bullet bike was found the night before yesterday on the canal of village Dangarkhera, after which his family members were searching for him. The Khuikhera police have kept the body of the deceased in the mortuary of govt hospital with the help of Nar Seva Narayan Seva Samiti members.

The family of the deceased, 28-year-old Rohtash, along with his other relatives, reached the Sadar police station in Abohar and told the SHO that the day before yesterday evening, he had come to Abohar with his two friends to get the bullet bike serviced and did not return till late night. When they started searching for him, his bike and clothes were found lying on the banks of the canal. His body was found in Koyal Khera from nearby fields. The family alleged that his friends had “killed” Rohtash by drowning him in the canal. They demanded action against the suspects. It is said that the deceased was a very good singer.

SHO Sachin Kamboj said that the family of the deceased has pointed fingers on two residents of Dhani Bodiwala. The matter is being investigated thoroughly. The suspects will be questioned strictly to unveil the truth.
