The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) SAS Nagar on Thursday organised a seminar on ozone depletion to create awareness among the masses on International Ozone Day which is being celebrated world over on every 16th September.
The theme of international day is for the preservation of the ozone layer for the year 2022 is “Global cooperation protecting environment and life on earth”. The seminar was organized in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science and Technology.
While inaugurated the seminar Professor (Dr.) Yog Raj, Chairman, PSEB said that protecting Ozone layer should be the way of life as depletion of Ozone layer is putting lot of harmful effects on the humanity world over. He emphasized the need of sensitizing all the students and teachers of schools affiliated to Punjab School Education Board besides other educational institutes. Dr. Varinder Bhatia Vice Chairman and Mrs. Amarjit Kaur Dalam, Deputy Secretary (Academic) were also present as guest of honor. Dr. Daizy Batish, Professor from Punjab University Chandigarh was the resource person at the event. Dr. Shruti Shukla Subject Expert, (Environment) coordinated the program and motivated all participants by laying emphasis on changing life style to protect the environment.
Dr Rupali Bal, Scientist from PSCST, also While addressing the participants on climate change which is the current issue of environment. The presentation was followed by an interactive session and all subject experts from different wings of PSEB have attended this seminar.
