7.75 KG OF RDX DROPPED BY DRONE FROM PAKISTAN IN SRIGANGANAGAR VILLAGE, DESTROYED

A team of security agencies today destroyed explosive material that was dropped by a Pakistani drone in the Rawla area of Sriganganagar district. Interrogation of two arrested youths from Punjab revealed that they had procured the consignment by contacting Pakistan resident ‘Umar Chacha’. The investigation has now been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The Pakistani drone had dropped three packets just one km away from the Khanuwali border post. Recovered items included 7.750 kg of black RDX, two Turkish-made Zigana pistols, four magazines, and 867 cartridges (including 35 empty ones). Additionally, five batteries, a remote control, and two couplers were found.

A team of security agencies from Jaipur examined the packets and destroyed the RDX under the supervision of CID Additional Superintendent of Police Diksha Kamra. A sample of the RDX explosive material was collected for testing prior to the dismantling process.

Two individuals arrested at the scene have been identified as Lakhwinder Singh of Alike (Ferozepur), and Sukhwinder Singh of Nakodar (Mehatpur, Jalandhar). During police interrogation, they revealed that Ram Singh (alias Manni) of Alike, had engaged them to retrieve the consignment from across the border.

Sukhwinder Singh was also involved in the grenade attack on the Jalalabad police station on September 13. He had been absconding since the attack. According to an ATS official, two or three days before the attack, Sukhvinder and his associate Vicky—alias Gurpreet Singh—travelled by motorcycle to Makhu town in Ferozepur district, where a grenade sent from Pakistan had been delivered. The attack was carried out subsequently.
