Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal Friday got checking of school vehicles conducted in her presence. She said that tampering with the safety of students cannot be allowed.

Friday morning, the DC along with the Child Protection Unit, Traffic Police and other related departments reached the main Fazilka-Abohar Road and checked the school vehicles.

During this, irregularities were found in many vehicles, against which the process of challan was implemented on the spot. Seeing the DC herself checking the vehicles, the passers-by applauded the initiative.

Similarly, after a little while, the officers changed the location of the checkpoint and inspected more vans. She also spoke to the students and went inside the van to check the safety measures.

The DC instructed the Child Protection Unit and the Education Department to tell the school principals to ensure that the school vans meet all safety standards. She said that this kind of checking campaign will continue in the future.
