SP Manjit Singh Dhesi said on Friday that Inspector Paramjit Kumar SHO Khuiyansarwerand other cops achieved significant success in tracing the terrorist gang related to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
He said that on 10-09-2023, during checking at the inter-state barrier, two youths, Sharanjit Singh, a resident of Mann and William Masih, a resident of Dharamkot Patan, PS in Dera Baba Nanak, were nabbed with 2 Pistols, 3 magazines and 20 live cartridges. A case was registered under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act.
Following the interrogation, Sahajpreet Singh alias Nirvair Singh alias Sunny resident of Kotha police station Dera Baba Nanak and Kailash Khichan of Phalodi Jodhpur were named as accused. On 27-10-2023 accused Sahajpreet was arrested by Fazilka Police. 3 pistols, 6 magazines and 3 live cartridges were recovered.
(SUBHEAD) Sahajpreet told during interrogation that he works with Babbar Khalsa International the head of which Harinder Singh alias Rinda currently lives in Pakistan. Along with this, Harpreet Singh aka Happy Pashia resident of village Pashian Amritsar (now in USA), Nishan Singh resident of village Jodiya PS Dera Baba Nanak (now in UK) had joined with ISI to disrupt the unity and integrity of the country by carrying out terrorist activities in Punjab and other states.
He said that weapons are smuggled in Punjab through drones from across the border, Indian fake currency is also sent along with these weapons, which are to be used to kill the threatened people of Punjab and disrupt peace by using foreign weapons. After interrogation, 6 more accused have been named. A total of 4 accused have been arrested in the case so far, arrest of the remaining accused is pending.
