WOODEN STICK AND KITCHEN KNIFE RECOVERED, ACCCUSED WAS HIRED BY THE FAMILY FOR THEIR DHABA ABOUT A FORTNIGHT BACK., AFTER COMMITTING THIS BRUTAL CRIME, HE DISAPPEARED WITH DECEASED MOBILE PHONE.

On 21/10/23 at about 02:45 PM, a PCR call was received at PS Nabi Karim regarding murder of a man and a child by cutting their throats. Police team rushed to the spot i.e. Brijwasi Restaurant, 8188, Gali No6, Arakshan road, Paharganj, Delhi where complainant Reema Devi w/o Anuj Kumar r/o Village ekdarwa distt. Gopal Ganj, Bihar age 33 years was found present and she stated that she alongwith her husband has been running a dhaba by the name of “Brijwasi Restaurant” at ground floor and residing at Ist floor of the restaurant.
On 20.10.23 she alongwith her daughter Shanvi age 5 years and her mother in law Smt. Kalawati Devi age 65 years went to Mohan Garden, Dwarka, Delhi for the worship at new home leaving behind her husband, son Ronak age 8 years and servant Sonu. Sonu was employed on 07.10.23 by her husband.
On 21.10.23 at 1.30 PM they came back to restaurant and found restaurant locked. She tried to call her husband on mobile phone but found switched off. Then she arranged a ladder and went to 1st floor of Dhaba where she found that her husband Anuj Kumar age 32 years and her 8-years-old son Ronak lying dead in the room at 1st floor having cut marks on their necks.
On her statement a case FIR No. 582/23 dated 21.10.23 u/s 302 IPC was registered and investigation taken up.
Keeping in view the sensitivity & gravity of the crime, a joint team of local police and specail wings was constituted to work on this case under the supervision of Insp. Ashok Kumar, SHO, Nabi Karim, Inspr. Vikram Dahiya, I/C Special Staff Insp. Shailender, Inspr. AATS.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sain, IPS, DCP, Central Distt..during course of investigation, it has been found that the servant Sonu and mobile phone of the deceased Anuj Kumar Singh , Restaurant owner have been missing from the scene of crime. Enquiries were conducted about the Sonu but no photograph was available. The complainant informed that servant Sonu was not using any mobile phone.
The CCTV installed inside the restaurant was also found missing. It has been revealed that servant sonu was employed through a Vegitable vendor Naresh. Naresh was traced and he informed that Sonu was working in a tea shop of Gagandeep in Tis Hazari court complex.
Gagandeep was examined, he provided a photograph and address of the Servant Sonu. But accused Sonu had provided imcomplete address of his native village in Bihar. He also provided a mobile no. of his relative in Punjab. The Team of special wings has obtained the last location of the stolen phone of accused . The last location of the phone of deceased was traced in Punjab where it was switched off.
(SUBHEAD)A teams of special wings was sent to Punjab to trace the absconding servant Sonu. The wife of the deceased also revealed that a few days back her husband had caught his servant Sonu stealing cash from the counter so he had beaten Sonu.
Team of special wings made efforts to trace the accused person in the vicinity of location bus stand, shops and railway station with the help of photograph of accused Sonu. Finally, the team succeeded in apprehending the accused from a barber’s shop in Ferojpur Punjab. He was brought to Delhi and interrogated extensively.
DISCLOSURE: During the investigation, Accused Sonu Kumar (age 22 years) S/o Lt. Chanderpal Paswan r/o District- Muzaffarpur, Bihar disclosed that he belongs to a poor family background. He is illiterate and his father died 7 years ago. His mother lives at his native place and his brother works as labourer in Rajasthan. He was working as labour in Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab. He came to Delhi in search of work before 3 months and started working in a tea shop in Tis Hazari Court complex. Then on 07.10.23. he moved to the deceased’s restaurant at Arkashan road, Paharganj, Nabi Karim.
On 17.10.23, the owner of the restaurant (The deceased) beaten him on the suspicion of attempt of theft of cash from his purse. On the fateful day i.e in the intervening night of incident i.e. 20/21/10/23 , (mid night) when the family of the decdeased was away from home. the deceased called the accused Sonu and beatne him on the issue of theft again.
Then to take revenge from his owner, the accused decided to end the story once for all and he came in the bedroom of deceased where deceased and his son were sleeping.
First he hit the deceased with danda on his head twice and then he slashed the throat of deceased. In between son of deceased gets up, he started crying loudly and caught the accused with hair. the accused panicked to be caught by public, he also slashed the throat of son of deceased and throne the body behind the space between wall and bed. He hid the broken CCTV in the dustbin. Changed the clothes and fled from the spot after jumping down from the first floor of the house. He caught the train in the morning for Punjab where he was caught by Team of special wings.
