Under the “Shuddh Aahar, Milawat Par Vaar” campaign in Sriganganagar, the Medical and Health Department oversaw the destruction of expired food items discovered at ‘Ram Rajya Department Store’. Expired food products—filling approximately two trolleys and valued at several lakh rupees—were disposed off. Through this action, the Food Safety team ensured the protection of consumer health by removing these expired goods from circulation. Food Safety Officers Urmila Bhadu, Renu Chaudhary, and Anil Kumar, along with COIEC Vinod Bishnoi and Sandeep Verma, were present at the site.

CMHO Dr. Ajay Singla said that, as part of the food safety drive, departmental teams also collected samples of food products from various establishments. Food Safety Officers Manju Bala and Nitya Sharma collected samples of “paneer” and curd from Wadhwa Paneer House. Additionally, samples of “urad dal”, “ladoos” and “mawa barfi” were collected from ‘Sharma Sweets and Namkeen Center’. These samples will be sent to a laboratory to test for quality and purity. Further action will be taken in accordance with the rules, based on the laboratory test reports.

The Medical and Health Department has urged food business operators to strictly adhere to food safety standards and refrain from selling expired products
