PARAGON AND YPS REGISTER WINS IN BOYS U-17, VIVEK HIGH SCHOOL, MOHALI DEFEATS AMITY INTERNATIONAL IN U-14 GIRLS’ CATEGORY, SAUPIN’S AND SACRED HEART GIRLS WIN IN U-17

On day 2 of the ongoing 9th Edition of Sardar Bhagwant Singh Memorial Basketball Trophy (BSMBT) in the boys (U-14) category, Strawberry Fields High School(SFHS), Sector 26, Chandigarh defeated Gurukul World, Mohali, 31-28. With 29 points, Rannanjay, from Strawberry Fields was the top scorer for his team. In another match St. Joseph’s School, Chandigarh defeated Shemrock School, Mohali, 34-17.

In a neck to neck competition, Saupin’s School, Chandigarh registered a win over St. Peter’s School, Chandigarh by a narrow margin, 21-17. Learning Paths School, Mohali humbled Shivalik School, Mohali by a huge margin 18-4.

Girls of host team Vivek High School, Mohali defeated Amity International School, Mohali by a huge margin 15-4 in the U-14 category. Navna was the top scorer for her team with 8 points.

In girls (U-17) category Saupin’s School 32, Chandigarh registered a convincing win over Shemrock School, Mohali, 21-2. While Sacred Heart, Sector 26, Chandigarh defeated Yadavindra Public School Mohali, 42-25. With 20 points, Tanman was the top scorer for her team.

Competing in boys (U-17) category – Paragon School, Mohali defeated St. Peter’s School, Chandigarh, 27-21. In another match Yadavindra Public School, Mohali defeated Guru Nanak Public School, Chandigarh, 31-19.

On day 2 a total of 9 matches for boys and girls were held under different age categories. BSMBT is the biggest inter-school basketball tourney of the tricity and is organised every year by Vivek High School, Mohali. The 7-day tourney is seeing participation of as many as 25 schools of tricity and 72 teams are in the fray. The finals which will be 6 in number shall be held over Oct 19 and 20.
