Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit said that our neighbouring country is making evil moves to weaken us, but with the help of the administration and the coordination of village security committees, this vicious circle of Pakistan will be smashed.
Speaking at a meeting of Social Security Committees near the Asafwala War Memorial, he said that Pakistan has now accepted this truth that they cannot fight a direct war with India, hence they are using drugs as a weapon, but if people also work together with the government, then we can defeat Pakistan in this secret war. He also said that we have to identify the traitors who spread drugs.
(SUBHEAD)The Governor said that the farmers of Punjab have made the country self-reliant in the food sector. Everyone will have to work together to fight the challenge of drug addiction. It is not just a problem of Punjab; it is spreading in Haryana and other states also.
He paid tribute to the martyrs of the India-Pakistan war of 1971 at the Martyr's Samadhi. Punjab Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Verma and DGP Gaurav Yadav were present.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal thanked the Governor and other guests.
