Motivational speaker BK Surya and National Coordinator of Brahma Kumaris Media Wing BK Shantanu were awarded the honorary degrees of Vidya Vachaspati by the Vikramshila Hindi Vidya Peeth, an NGO, in the conference auditorium of Brahma Kumaris at Shantivan, Abu Road for their distinguished contribution towards Hindi.
Dr. Shrigopal Narsan, Deputy Registrar of the Vidyapeeth, honored them by presenting a shawl and degree certificate each in the presence of hundreds of media persons and BK family during the National Media Conference.
(SUBHEAD)BK Surya Bhai is known for his spiritual theological knowledge and solutions to life-related problems in Hindi language, while BK Shantanu, who belongs to non-Hindi speaking state of Orissa, has served Hindi prominently in Brahma Kumaris organisation.
Narsan said that on the recommendation of the Dean of the Vidyapith Dr. Yogender Nath Sharma 'Arun', a prolific writer and poet, and Registrar Dr. Devendra Nath Shah, the Academic Council of the Peeth decided to confer this honorary degree.
He said that the Vidyapeeth is one of the oldest NGOs, which has been lighting the flame of Hindi globally and honours Hindi sewaks. BK Surya and BK Shantanu expressed gratitude to the Vidyapith for the honour. The program was conducted by BK Sudhir Bhai.
