The Haryana Government is set to showcase the remarkable products crafted by women's self-help groups (SHGs) at Haryana Pavilion in the upcoming India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023, scheduled from November 14 to 27 in New Delhi. The government also plans to promote SHG products at other trade fairs, both domestically and internationally.

This was disclosed by Chief Secretary, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal after presiding over the 34th Governing Body meeting of the Trade Fair Authority of Haryana (TFAH) here today.

(SUBHEAD)Mr. Kaushal said that the government is committed to boost the economic empowerment of women, and SHG products are a prime example of this objective. He said that the government is extending its full support to SHGs to help them market their products to a wider audience.

A committee will be formed to select the items to be displayed at the IITF 2023. The IITF is one of Asia's largest trade fairs, and it provides an ideal platform for showcasing SHG products, Mr. Kaushal added.

In a bid to boost the visibility of SHG products, the government has decided to establish a dedicated stall at the IITF 2023. This stall will serve as a one-stop shop for visitors to explore the diverse range of SHG products.

Mr. Kaushal also directed that the Haryana pavilion at the IITF should be made more attractive and creative. He said that the fair should be planned in a time-bound manner in collaboration with various departments. He also emphasized on including herbal and organic products of Haryana in the exhibition and trade fairs.

The governing body also approved the TFAH proposal to participate in the “East Himalayan Expo, Guwahati 2023” from October 1 to 5, 2023, a multi-products expo organized by ITPO.

In addition to the IITF, TFAH will also participate in the “World Food India-2023” from November 3 to 5, 2023, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. TFAH will also participate in the “AAHAR International Food & Hospitality Fair-2024,” slated for March 2024 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Mrs. G. Anupama, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Mr. Anand Mohan Sharan, Director-General, Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture, Department, Mr. Amit Kumar Agrawal, Secretary Finance, Ms. Sofia Dahiya, and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
