SUICIDE BY TWO BROTHERS IN JALANDHAR: THAN SHO DISMISSED FROM SERVICE

Major action has been taken by the DGP of Punjab in the matter of suicide by the Dhillon brothers of Jalandhar after being harassed by the SHO. Taking action, the DGP has dismissed former SHO Navdeep Singh from his job. It may be mentioned that Dhillon brothers Manavjit and Jashanveer Dhillon of Jalandhar committed suicide after being humiliated by the then SHO Navdeep Singh and other police personnels of Police Station Division No. 1 of Jalandhar.

After recovery of Jashanveer's body, , a case of abetment to suicide was registered against the concerned officer.  After absconding, a lookout notice has been issued against the policemen.

It may be recalled that  Dhillon brothers Manavjeet and Jashanveer jumped into the Beas river from the Goindwal Sahib bridge after being tortured and humiliated by the then SHO Navdeep Singh, Munshi Balwinder and woman constable Jagjit Kaur in Police Station Division No. 1 of Jalandhar. Jashanveer's body was found.

After taking action against the than  SHO, the victim's family has agreed to cremate Jashanveer.
