PUDA NEVER TOOK PAIN TO CLEAN THIS CHOE, HARD TO DIGEST – MAYOR, WRITES TO ADVISOR TO UT ADMINISTRATION TO EXAMINE THIS ISSUE

Face2News/Mohali

Mohali Mayor, Amarjit Singh Sidhu slammed PUDA administration for not maintaining the ‘N Choe’ falling in Sector-51, near Lawrence Public School, Mohali. He said this ‘choe’ has a direct impact on the health of 2000 students studying in the school.

(MOREPIC1)  Sidhu said it is hard to comprehend that PUDA has never taken pain to clean and maintain this choe. He said that another serious concern is drainage of sewage water from Chandigarh in the same ‘N Choe’. Due to the monsoon season the danger of dengue, diarrhoea, and other vector borne diseases is exponentially high which may lead students’ health in danger.

He further said that this Choe carries with it sludge from Chandigarh. In Mohali too, several storm-water and sludge outlets drain into it, much to the dismay of people living in the vicinity who have to contend with foul smell coming from the choe. Taking cognizance of the matter Mayor, Mohali wrote a letter to the Advisor to UT Administrator and Mayor, Chandigarh to explore alternative routes for drainage of water.

He further said that he will also write a letter to PUDA to take immediate cognizance of the matter and ensure cleaning of the choe. He said that PUDA should also publish the action taken report in the public interest as the health of 2000 students is directly concerned with this issue.
