ONE ACCUSED RESIDENT OF ANANDPUR SAHIB AND THE OTHER FROM MALERKOTLA, THEY WERE SELLING POPPY HUSK FOR EASY MONEY

In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against drug suppliers. As per direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime & HQ, under supervision of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh, a team of Crime Branch lead by Inspector Ashok Kumar nabbed a drug supplier namely Avinder Singh and Jatinder Singh and recovered 6.960 KG and 4.750 kg poppy husk from their possession respectively.
On 5.8.2023 police party headed by ASI Hira Singh was on Crime Control and prevention patrolling duty in Sector 26, Chandigarh and laid a naka near govt. tube-well 51, gate No. 4 Police Lines Sector 26, Chandigarh. While checking of vehicles, one vehicle PB65AR-2992 was stop on suspicion with the help police personnel. During search 6.960 kg Poppy Husk was recovered from possession of Avinder Singh and 4.750 Kg Poppy Husk was recovered from possession of Jatinder Singh.
In this regard a Case FIR No. 105 Dt. 5.8.2023 U/S 15 NDPS ACT PS-26, UT Chandigarh registered
against them and investigation carried on.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Avinder Singh S/o Sh. Avtar Singh r/o Vill. Mahroli Distt. Amandpur Sahib, Aged 54 years.M Jatinder Singh s/o satinder Singh R/o Vill. Bhagiwali distt. Malerkotla, Aged 38 years.
MODUS OPERANDI: They used to purchase Poppy Husk from the Rajasthan and MP and further use to sell the same to consumers/addicts on high rate, thus earning easy money.
Both accused was produced before the Hon’ble District Court and sent to judicial custody.
