VB NABS GOVT AMBULANCE DRIVER WHILE ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS 4000

Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Thursday nabbed a Driver, Jaspal Singh alias Lucky, deputed at Government Ambulance of Gurdaspur Civil Hospital, for accepting a bribe of Rs 4000. The accused has been arrested on the complaint of a private ambulance driver Rajesh Kumar.

Divulging details here today, an official spokesperson of the VB said that Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Gurdaspur had lodged a complaint that Government Ambulance driver Jaspal Singh was demanding a share out of fare being received by private ambulance drivers for transporting patients to other cities.

After preliminary investigation of the complaint, he said that a team of VB Unit Gurdaspur laid a trap and arrested the accused driver while accepting a bribe of Rs 4000 from the complainant in the presence of official witnesses.

In this regard, the spokesperson said that an FIR no 25 dated 03-08-2023 under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the driver Jaspal Singh at Police Station VB, Amritsar Range.
