A deputation of the Abohar Journalists Association led by President Tejinder Singh Khalsa met SSP Manjit Singh Dhesi and apprised about the problems being faced by the fourth pillar of democracy. The deputation said that if cops crack any incident or make seizures in Abohar and Balluana, a press conference should be held at Abohar.
Apart from this, information about any incident should be made available to journalists as soon as possible by the concerned SHO so that journalists can send the news on time. The Association expected due respect from the police administration to authorised journalists. President Khalsa hoped that the demands would be judiciously looked into soon.(SUBHEAD)
During the meeting, the cases related to journalists Raj Kumar Goyal and Harpreet Singh, were explained to the SSP and a request to impart justice was made. The SSP assured that all the issues raised by the journalist fraternity would be resolved. He assured due respect and cooperation to the journalists and hoped for a good understanding. Khalsa said that soon a list of authorised journalists would be made available
The deputation comprised Raj Sadosh, Ramesh Kathuria, Rohit Watts, Gaurav Nagpal, Satyanarain Sharma, Sandeep Sokhal, Raghav Nagpal, Praveen Juneja, Jatin Dhawan, Dharamveer Sharma, Raj Kumar Goyal, Harpreet Singh, Balkaran Singh, Paramjit Singh and others. The meeting was very cordial and full of cohesion.
