The Army come into action as 47 individuals rescued by BAUT and 910 students evacuated from Chitkara university whereas two thousands students stranded there. As informed by Western Command, Columns at Rajpura have started evacuation from an Old Age home . Also reinforcement of Bundh to prevent breach towards Rajpura and clearing water from Chitkara University where almost 2000 students were stranded.
(SUBHEAD)On requisirion receivedd from DC Patiala and DC Ropar for assistance due to breach in River and Canal, rescue party has left to assess the situation alongwith 2 columns. DC has requisitioned for closing breach and assistance in evacuation .A rescue party has been dispatched to assess the situation at Ropar where again a breach has taken place in a canal leading to inundation of villages , Column will move based on assessment.

FEROZEPORE: Based on requisition recd from Sh Gagandeep Singh, SDM Zira and tele requisition by DC Ferozepur to GOC 7 Inf Div for rescue of 25-30 persons stranded in Satluj River near Araji Sabran vill in Sub Division Zira, Coln ex 7 Inf Div at Ferozepur has been launched at 2230hrs. Last known marooned villager rescued. Request recd from DC to for plugging a breach upstream on Pachidhara nullah. Task continue with JCB Machine, added Spokesperson of army.
