Two well-educated youths took Parshadi diksha from Mahant Swami Ji Maharaj, head of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, who has been staying in Toronto, Canada for the last several days. The youths had resolved to follow the path of world welfare. Their parents, who were also present, were honoured by presenting garlands on the occasion.
Giving diksha to Snehal Bhai, Swamiji named him Anirudh Bhakt. Similarly, while giving diksha to Akash Bhai, he was named Sukhdev Bhakt. Swami ji hoped that these youths would get the good fortune of becoming saints after taking training as per the rules and regulations of the organisation. With joyous enthusiasm, the newly ordained parshads danced before Swamishri, and they were joined by other swamis. Hundreds of devotees present on the occasion offered best wishes to both the youth.
(SUBHEAD)In the evening assembly, Mahant Swami Maharaj welcomed Pierre Poilievre, Conservative Party leader in Canada and Leader of the Opposition with a garland. Swami ji presented Pierre Poilievre with the book 'In Love, At Ease' on the life and teachings of Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Poilievre addressed the assembly and appreciated the work being done by the BAPS.
On the occasion, Swami ji advised children and youth, who were present in good numbers, to avoid “kusang” (bad company) and join “satsang”.
