The “Shiksha Daan: Mahadaan '' programme launched by the Abohar unit of All India Arora Khatri Punjabi Community (AIAKPC) has benefitted 180 needy students, mostly from private schools.
At a function organized at Arorvansh Dharamshala here, they were given books and stationery worth about Rs 2 lakh, but their photos were not clicked. All of them along with their teachers/parents also had lunch with other guests. National President of the organization Kamal Handa, Vice President Sahib Dayal Wadhwa and General Secretary Jyoti Kamal Handa motivated the students to make best possible use of summer vacations.

Kamal Kishore Khurana, Asim Chhabra, Bhagwant Bhateja and Manish Bhateja monitored the book distribution work. Sham Lal Arora said that the NGO will provide free coaching to needy students for PSEB exams.
In the presence of Sadhvi Vatsalya Bharti and Bagisha Bharti of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) Mamta Jasuja took oath as head of women's wing and Atinderpal Singh Tinna as head of youth wing. Mayor of Municipal Corporation Vimal Thatai, former chairman of Improvement Trust Anil Nagpal and Lekhak Parishad president Raj Sadosh said after lighting the lamps that the organization has taken a unique step by providing books and stationery to students.
